UPDATED  NEWS

3-6-10

Good news. Spring is on it's way and aren't we glad. Only thing is we have some bad news. Nancy, being a kindergarten teacher. she has had to sit on the floor and  on some of those little chairs that five year old's need. Well we have found that she has a bad hip and must be replaced. So on March 18th she will have surgery here in Marion. Please pray that she will be ok.

Donald has had two funerals this week . One was very close to us. Our former bass player's mother passed away. She had been ill for about two years. Donald has her in the Hospice program.  We had dinner with our friend Joyce Franze. Our friend Gene and Elaine brought  her to Marion so we could fellowship with her. Looking forward to hearing from you whenever you wish to e=mail . We will reply. Until then may God Bless you and yours.

Well how do you like this weather? I have joked with people, that I  have waited all summer for this not knowing that it would be this aggravating. We have had snow on the ground now for over forty days and no relief in sight. I'm glad we were able to complete our journey to Syracuse, In with out incident. Health wise here at home we are doing ok except for Nancy. She has missed the last seventeen days with a hip  problem. She has had two Mri's but nothing has come of it yet.

The church we have spent many years in before going into our ministry has  lost many members by way of death. We are seeing many former choir members and board members graduating to a better place .Something we should all be looking for. I know we all  are looking forward to that day. Our prayer list goes on and on so I won't attempt to list everyone. Just know our fridge is covered pretty much with all the memo's

Tony and Anita are looking forward to his graduation in may. He has an associate degree in management and marketing from Ivy Tech. We are pretty proud of him. Donald is very busy with his Hospice service. Odd that he would have so many of my fellow workers  as clients. Our former bass players mother is now in his care in Kokomo, so that means more miles .We just returned from the doctor's office and Ethel is doing quite well.

I hope this finds you in good spirits and healthy. If not we pray God's blessing on each of you as we travel down this road of life.

For all you that have gotten on my case because of not updating this site this if for you. With three lady watchdogs here at home that's all I need is for you to hound me. So I shall try to do better. God Bless Lew

WOW!  we just missed it. All the snow that is. We were  invited to the Syracuse, Calvary Methodist church the last  Sunday of January. We had a large crowd and a wonderful concert, Many people appreciated some of the vintage music we presented to them. It may be a surprise to some of these young preachers that there is a hungering for the harmony in music. I enjoyed the fact that so many young people of all ages came to each of us and said how much they enjoyed the program. Anyway God delivered us from this giant snow storm we are having today.  Are you looking for spring ?  I am.

Please  remember Nancy at this time .She has some nerve damage in her left side. She has had two M.r.i's in Ft. Wayne, In and nothing has shown any reason. She goes to a specialist this week. Donald has had two funerals this week. His Hospice service is quit busy. former bass player's mother is quite ill and is having many problems.

That's about all  for now so Keep warn and keep looking up for your redemption is growing nigh.

As she read that I couldn't help thinking how simple Salvation is and we can't seem to embrace it. He said we only had to believe. With our finite mind we just  can't believe it can be so simple. Anyway have a good week .Lew K4

We are starting our new year rather early this year. Donald will preach at Hemlock Friends January 14th and the King's Four will be in concert at the Calvary Methodist church in Syracuse, In on  January 31st at 10:30 a.m. Pastor David and Anita Herr have been great friends for years. He just lost his mother this last week and we are sorry for that.

Here's wishing you a very prosperous New Year and a healthy on also. Till next time Keep on Keeping on for him. Lewis

In other news we have put our coach in storage for a while so that a good friend of ours can install air on the top. I have struggled with this for quite sometime because I wasn't sure the coach would go in to the garage .Gil assured us it would so we bit the bullet and will have some air this summer. Many of you were aware of our situation but I think I may have it solved . Hope so.

We were so glad to hear from Patty Seyfert  that her father has been cured of cancer and now acknowledge there really is a God. Harvey has had a rough time since his wife Phylliss past away.

As far as we know T.C.,Joyce and Geraldine are all doing better but still need prayer

.    It seems like every concert we have had lately friends show up whom we haven't been with for quite sometimes. Yesterday Freddie and Mary Ann came along with the Lehman family. The church had lost a life time member that morning and another lady who is on dialysis came and asked to be baptized after the service. Because she could not be put under so Pastor Paul sprinkled her . Same difference I guess.

Anyway the presence of the Lord was in the service and we were invited for dinner at Ryan's Now it's on to northern Indiana and then to Michigan.Have a great week  Lew K4

The above drawing is from last Sundays bulletin. It was drawn by Glen Welch who is on staff at the Salvation Army here in Marion. I thought I might share it with you. I had trouble blowing it up but I think you can get the idea and how much time was involved. We thank Glen. Sunday we had some very wonderful moments. Ken and Jill Norr whom we met some twenty five years ago at Jellystone surprised us by coming in from Leo, In. We haven't seen them for a number of years and it reminded us you can have close friends and not see them for quite sometime and still you are good friends. They had their daughter and husband and four grandchildren with them.

A surprise this morning. I went for the paper and an envelope fell off the threshold. Major R. Meyers video tape the entire service including  Don's sermon and put it on a DVD Ive' only seen part of it but so far a really professional job. We thank you Major and we will send this to many parts of the US to our many wonderful friends..

                                                Where is the church today?

In the late 50's Madaline Ohara challenged  prayer in  our schools.  She took it to the supreme court and won the case. Since then the separation of church and state has been the topic of law for the last fifty years. The church sat on it's hands until the decision was made and  to no avail appealed many times with no results. Consequently the A. C .l .U. has ridden this horse for many years. The Lord's prayer and even the constitution has been assaulted.

I just read an editorial on the difference between Christian music and gospel music. I will try to relate this to you. Christian music has been  influenced by the secular world and the church has closed their eyes. The meg- churches have included large P.A. systems , Light bars across their stages with an emphasis on many instruments. Screens the size of football field. Hymn books in boxes drawing dust in the back rooms. Mathew seven states this ( But when you pray, pray not in vain repetition as do the heathens pray). Praise and worship is praying by singing. The saying now is we have wall music seven eleven. Seven words eleven times over. Have you ever watched a concert by many well known secular artists. People standing elbow to elbow arms in the air and swaying to the sound of the instruments. Then watch the  mega-church service on T. V. and notice the similarities. Where is the church HuH?

Now before I continue and you love gospel music don't get to smug. Speaking to a former member of our quartet, he brought to mind that about eighty percent of gospel music is written with many (I's) in the words. (I Believe), (I'm Heaven Bound),( I'm saved  saved), So you see even though gospel music is basically   based on scripture there are some flaws in it.

Even though we rationalize and say it's for the younger generation we should keep in mind that people and I say many come to Christ through music. I can attest to you that I have witnessed  people accepting a new life by hearing gospel music. Just as people love country there are those who enjoy gospel music. Just for fun pick up a hymnal, if you can find one ) and read some of the words that have brought many to the throne This has been on my heart for sometime and not until read this did I realize how the church is moving. We should investigate more of who Satan really is. The Bible tells us that not only is he and instrument himself but God made him the Prince of the power of the air. Think about it, around your  head right now  are  many sounds and the only way to recognize them is if you have a receiver to hear them. I hope I haven't bored you with my thought, but if  I have provoked one person to  thinking I will have done my job as and ambassador for Christ.

It's time to quit but before I do I want to quote Steve Brown ( You think about this).

Our counter on this site has failed me and I have no idea if our web site is being visited.. I hope so because it keeps me very busy keeping up with all the news. Anyway if you read the site just e-mail me and let me know if it's worth the effort I put in to it. Ok?ol.

Because we have never solicited either engagements or compensation I believe people think we may be done. That isn't true, we are still dedicated to serving our God in any capacity we can. We may sing old fashion but you can still reap a blessing from the words.

God gave us the option to choose but we can't choose the consequences.
