Please forgive me for being so late but I have a legitimate excuse. First Ethel and I just returned from Florida on Monday and then prepared to start the week end a Bluffton six mile church. Our time in Florida was spent with her brother and sister in-law. Yes it was just as hot there as you enjoyed here in Indiana. I deep sea fished two days ,out about ten mile in the ocean. It was kind of scary not being able to see land. Fire and water are necessary to help us live in comfort but they can also be very troublesome at times.
While we were gone Anita had a wonderful experience. She was part of a high school singing group called the Madrigals Mr. Jim Carr who was the director and lives out in a western state requested that he would like to have a reunion. Of course the girls were given the task of locating many of the past members. Anita was the only one of the thirty some members who has made a profession in music which pleased Mr. Carr because he hadn't heard the King's four since we met him in Indianapolis many years ago.
The weekend was spent as I said at the Six Mile Reform church. We gave a mini concert like always each night and Donald C. was at his best. The family commented afterwards that the young preacher Ryan Dylrunple needed the encouragement. Like always the church was full on Sunday and many said they weren't advised that we would be there. Of course one excuse is as good as another. My eighth grade coach and wife were there. Lloyd Biberstien and his wife who are both ninety two years young.
Prayer request are still coming in and here is just a few, Stanlys, Hulls, T.C. Fishers, and the Wilson's.
We will be in concert this Sunday for once in Marion at the God's Grace Ministries U.M.C. at forty five south Adams street at 10:00 a.m.
That's all for now God Bless Lew K-4

Last weekend was a long one for the group. Saturday as usual was very hot and we had to sing in a cafeteria with no air. Singing before your peers is a frightening ordeal. Some I haven't seen in quite sometime. I must tell you that we are excited about our new air conditioning on the coach. Sunday we filled in for a group that cancelled at the Bear Creek Farms chapel. Of course it gave the group another chance to eat at the restaurant. That is two times in one year and it cost me again. Oh well they are worth every penny. Right? With all the hot weather this weekend at Jellystone it will be a good thing. having air in the coach. This will be our thirty seventh year at the park on July 4th. If you have no plans come and see us.. Just tell the gate why you are there.
Starting next Thursday the ninth Ethel and I will travel to Florida to see her brother and sister-in law for a few days. Many of your remember Fran and Joan Fisher who have traveled with us in the past. I may just get to deep sea fish if all goes well. We just hope to remain healthy for the trip. As many of you know the hassle of getting on and off the plane is quite taxing at times,
When we return we will start a three day meeting at the 6 mile church. It is located six miles east of Bluffton, In on state rd 115. a short concert each night with Donald giving a short message. Hope to see you there. Well that's all for now so Keep on Keeping on for Him. Lew K4

I had a knock on my door yesterday and when I opened it there stood former Major Richard Justvig and wife Mary from St.Louis, Mo.This man put us on the road to many Salvation Army corps. over the state and Michigan. He probably paid us very good and kept us moving, From him and Major David Grindle we traveled over five states and sung in many adult camps. After approximately twelve years we out grew all those we worked with. Either by attrition or other problems there seemed to be many of the corp. officers were gone. Anyway as I understand it Richard is sort of a counselor for those who have left the ministry. That I don't understand. Can you really retire from God's work if you were called. Only God knows that. Anyway have a good day and God Bless. Lew K-4
After receiving an e-mail from my good friend Polly I realized that many of you that read my news are not aware of the many aspects of this ministry. You see the easy part is the singing, the practice and the recording in the studio. We provide preaching, counseling, available sign language , week end meetings with Chaplain Don preaching. This I will say, that there aren't many groups who would take in three days of meeting because of their repertoire. It usually takes about thirty musical selections for a three day meeting.
Last night was the first time we have had to get all the tarps out of the bus We were at the Round barn festival in Rodchester,I n. We left with plenty of time so we were set up pretty early. The rain came in sprinkles and gave us plenty of time to cover. The rain left, the sun came out and we continued with a forty five minute concert. Then all you could hear were sirens. Sure glad it was a parade instead of the tornado sirens. As usual the helicopter came over as we sang and I waved at the pilot because being on the high stage I'm sure the pilot saw us. Anyway we could see him.If you received an e-mail from me don't get to excited. After all this time I finally figured out how to send to everyone,

We look forward to the festival in Rodchester, on June the eleventh. We have had many prayer request lately. so the fridge is pretty well covered. .Hope all is well with you and yours and wish for you a great summer. Enjoy the holidays as they come. God Bless and Keep on Keeping on. Lew k4

Again our concert at the Berne Community center went well. Saw several new faces as well as friend who drove from Bluffton, had .lots of rain coming home but we made it ok. Today the family and friends of Tony had a graduation calibration at the Justice middle school cafeteria here in Marion. Many came and it was a great occasion for Tony . Donald was not able to attend because of a funeral commitment. Nancy is slowly making head way with the new hip. It was good seeing Elaine, Gene and Joyce this week. Hope all is well with you and yours so Keep on Keeping on. Lew

Good news, Tony Brown our audio tech and Anita's husband graduated today from Huntington University with a degree in bachelor's of Science. He is still at White's Residential as a management director. We are certainly proud of him after these two years of study. and expense.
Our good friend Pastor Jeff Tomlinson also graduated from Anderson University last Saturday and we congratulate him also.

It could be bad timing, poor scheduling, or failure to notify us of the change of time. You probably wonder what this is all about. Sunday we were supposed to be at Bear Creek Farms Macklin chapel. According to our schedule the time was ten o'clock. We left here at seven thirty hoping to have plenty time to set up. We arrived only to find that we had fifteen minutes and the chapel was full. Of course I took the blame so we made a decision to just play around the piano. We gave a forty minute concert living room style. After the preacher settled down he complimented us for the good spirit in the church. Question is? What would you have done. I have heard reports of groups that pull up to the church and find it to be very small. They went down the road and called back claiming bus trouble. Not many groups out there that would have performed like my kids did Sunday. After service the man in charge of every summer Sunday for special groups was informed thru the grape vine that a group scheduled to play the chapel in June disband, moved to Tennessee with out notifying him. Now that's tacky and not very professional, Anyway I couldn't do that in good conscience
Tony and Anita returned from Chicago, where he was in a management conference for his new position at White;s Residential. He starts tomorrow although he has been on the job for about two weeks. Nancy received a good report from her doctor and will return in about seven weeks. Donald is still visiting Hospice patents, but still losing a few each week. I pray every week that someone is visiting our web=site because it is the only way we have to inform you. Pray that God will keep on using us to encourage and win people to God. God Bless.
A family note. Our very good friend Rev. Mark Spencer at the first Baptist church in Rodchester, In. lost his wife to Lou Gerig decease after four years. It came on quickly and before they could figure out the problem it had taken her. Of course there is no cure.
We are starting to book again and hope to stay healthy. God Bless. Lewis K-4
I hope this finds you in good spirits and healthy. If not we pray God's blessing on each of you as we travel down this road of life.
For all you that have gotten on my case because of not updating this site this if for you. With three lady watchdogs here at home that's all I need is for you to hound me. So I shall try to do better. God Bless Lew

As she read that I couldn't help thinking how simple Salvation is and we can't seem to embrace it. He said we only had to believe. With our finite mind we just can't believe it can be so simple. Anyway have a good week .Lew K4
Where is the church today?
In the late 50's Madaline Ohara challenged prayer in our schools. She took it to the supreme court and won the case. Since then the separation of church and state has been the topic of law for the last fifty years. The church sat on it's hands until the decision was made and to no avail appealed many times with no results. Consequently the A. C .l .U. has ridden this horse for many years. The Lord's prayer and even the constitution has been assaulted.
I just read an editorial on the difference between Christian music and gospel music. I will try to relate this to you. Christian music has been influenced by the secular world and the church has closed their eyes. The meg- churches have included large P.A. systems , Light bars across their stages with an emphasis on many instruments. Screens the size of football field. Hymn books in boxes drawing dust in the back rooms. Mathew seven states this ( But when you pray, pray not in vain repetition as do the heathens pray). Praise and worship is praying by singing. The saying now is we have wall music seven eleven. Seven words eleven times over. Have you ever watched a concert by many well known secular artists. People standing elbow to elbow arms in the air and swaying to the sound of the instruments. Then watch the mega-church service on T. V. and notice the similarities. Where is the church HuH?
Now before I continue and you love gospel music don't get to smug. Speaking to a former member of our quartet, he brought to mind that about eighty percent of gospel music is written with many (I's) in the words. (I Believe), (I'm Heaven Bound),( I'm saved saved), So you see even though gospel music is basically based on scripture there are some flaws in it.
Even though we rationalize and say it's for the younger generation we should keep in mind that people and I say many come to Christ through music. I can attest to you that I have witnessed people accepting a new life by hearing gospel music. Just as people love country there are those who enjoy gospel music. Just for fun pick up a hymnal, if you can find one ) and read some of the words that have brought many to the throne This has been on my heart for sometime and not until read this did I realize how the church is moving. We should investigate more of who Satan really is. The Bible tells us that not only is he and instrument himself but God made him the Prince of the power of the air. Think about it, around your head right now are many sounds and the only way to recognize them is if you have a receiver to hear them. I hope I haven't bored you with my thought, but if I have provoked one person to thinking I will have done my job as and ambassador for Christ.
It's time to quit but before I do I want to quote Steve Brown ( You think about this).
Our counter on this site has failed me and I have no idea if our web site is being visited.. I hope so because it keeps me very busy keeping up with all the news. Anyway if you read the site just e-mail me and let me know if it's worth the effort I put in to it. Ok?ol.
Because we have never solicited either engagements or compensation I believe people think we may be done. That isn't true, we are still dedicated to serving our God in any capacity we can. We may sing old fashion but you can still reap a blessing from the words.
